Jorge Artavia

Jorge was born in San Jose Costa Rica where his passion for the game of Futbol originated. Jorge’s family moved to MN in 2000 because his fathers company relocated him.

In the USA Jorge maximized his love for the sport of soccer while traveling the country playing competitively. In college Jorge pursued a degree in the field while playing at two Division II institutions. Jorge aimed to play professional soccer for several years 2009-2013. In his journey he was humbled by his experience of playing in his home country of Costa Rica with Deportivo Saprissa’s second team. His career highlight was, playing under the coaching of José Giacone at Saprissa and getting opportunity to play against the Costa Rican national team.

Upon returning to the US Jorge transferred collegiate institutions and decided to study his preferred field in the sciences, Nutrition and Exercises. He has aims to someday give back as a coach and professional in the field. Upon graduating with a BS, he worked in NYC as personal trainer and a contracted event manager. Jorge is a certified strength and conditioning specialist who enjoys working at The Power House with goals to help athletes maximize their athletic potential. He enjoys personal training and health counseling because he believes every person can become better through movement practice. Lastly, Jorge has recently found an appreciation for the sport of CrossFit.

  • The kettlebell is one of the most versatile and fun ways to get in shape. Our Kettlebells II: Skills & Drills classes are strictly focused on mastering the exquisite art of kettlebell maneuvers and putting those skills to use in challenging workouts!

    Kettlebells II: Skills & Drills class requires previous kettlebell experience. 50% of the class will be devoted to proper technique and skill development and 50% to appropriately challenging workouts.
