Heart Rate Testing Now Available

Greetings Members!

It has been a wild and crazy summer at The Power House and we are loving every second of it!! We have new members joining everyday and student/athletes of all ages hitting them gym hard. We couldn't be more excited about the community we are all creating together. Our coaching staff has been busy teaching, training and testing out some new programming for the past 8 weeks and we are excited to roll it out to you as members! We are now ready to test members in private sessions to find their heart rate numbers.

Crossfitters are notoriously know for spending most of their life in an anaerobic state- isn't that why we love CrossFit?! Well, yes and no. By adding in some additional aerobic and anaerobic conditioning to our programming our coaches have reaped the rewards of improving our cardiovascular fitness across all energy pathways all while continuing to PR our lifts and metcons. Exciting stuff!

We have started utilizing heart rate training to really narrow in on each one of our individual training thresholds to maximize results. It all starts with a heart rate based metabolic conditioning test and can be done on the rower or a treadmill. Once the test is complete we will have a good idea where your markers are for both your aerobic threshold, as well as, your lactate threshold. Those numbers will then allow us the ability to teach you how to train to improve both anaerobically and aerobically.

Ultimately, the goal is to push your thresholds as high as possible, taking your cardiovascular fitness to the next level all while improving upon your overall strength as an athlete. This training will allow you to understand where your "redline" lies and how long you can perform at that level working to push that line higher and higher to improve your scores as a CrossFIt athlete.

The information you receive in your private session can be used to further customize your training and get the most out of each workout.
