THE 2016 CROSSFIT OPEN/POWER HOUSE TEAM COMPETITION STARTS THIS WEEK! Here is everything you need you know.

WELCOME TO THE 2016 CROSSFIT OPEN!!! We are so excited for the inaugural year of Power House teams during the Open, building the excitement, camaraderie, participation, and outcomes for all our members. Thank you for making the choice to join the ranks!

Below are pertinent details on how the Open will work this year. Please read the following, and let your Team Captains know what questions you have.

STILL NOT REALLY SURE WHAT THE CROSSFIT OPEN IS?

No worries! Check out http://games.crossfit.com/about-the-games/the- open to see if that answers some of your questions. Signing up for a Power House team does not mean you have to sign up for the official Open leaderboard, but go right ahead if you are ready to! We will be providing all official workouts for the Open (Scaled, Rx, Teen, Masters), as well as additional scaling for all our athletes.

SHIRTS: Shirts will be available for everyone on Sunday, February 28th, the first workout of the Open. If you still need to submit the $20 fee, just let us know and we will get you squared.

TEAMS: We are still getting a few sign-ups, and are trying to keep teams at even numbers, so there is a chance this could change a bit! Right now here are the teams:

WHEN DO WE DO THE WORKOUT?

The answer is Sunday. Please sign up for the class you plan to come to online, just like you normally do for class. There will be a signup board above the kettlebells for athletes who want officially judged scores. Do you need an officially judged score?? Not unless you are signed up at www.crossfit.com/open for the Open Leaderboard! We will judge as many as possible in addition to those who need a official score, and even get help from you and your teammates to help be "Power House Judges"!

Remember that the workouts are keep secret until Thursday night, so the plans may shift slightly depending on the length, movement, and equipment necessary for the WOD! Here are the options we plan to have available:

• 8AM class is an adult option, but official judging will be limited
• 9AM-1oAM is an adult option, with more judging capacity
• 10AM-11AM is an adult option, with more judging capacity
• 11AM-12PM is our YOUTH timeslot, with judging capacity as necessary • 4 -5PM class is an adult option, but official judging will be limited

If you are unable to do the workout on Sunday, contact your Coach Captains for options! Going out of town for spring break? Think about finding a local box to complete the workout and get your participation points for your team!

• Open Kickoff Event! POTLUCK (please contribute if you

can!!!) and watch past Open, Regional, and CrossFit Games footage, talk strategy, and get amped for the weeks to come!

MARCH 6:

• Wim Hof Breathing lesson, "Superfriending" partner smashing o Time: 12-1PM

MARCH 13:

Mini consults with Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, Tara Schlecht.

Sign-up required, price TBD.
o Time: Ongoing 10AM-12PM
Yin Yoga Class with guest teacher Serene Loy-Peterson o Time: 12-1PM

MARCH 20:
Professional photos with Rachel Siefert o Time: 9am-12pm
Open Recovery Workshop with Coach Meredith Forbes. Soft tissue, alignment, and range of motion troubleshooting and repair.

o Time: 12:30-1:30PM

MARCH 27:
• Vision and Goal-Setting with lululemon goal guru Becky Harmsa o Time: 12-1PM
HOW DO I SCORE POINTS FOR MY TEAM?

There are many ways to score points for your awesome team! Each athlete will get a scorecard to be submitted to the Team Captains. Points will be given on the spot during the workouts, or rewarded upon conference between Captains by the following Wednesday.

Here are the ways we will be giving points to individuals and teams:
• "IN THE ARENA" POINTS: 20 points to each athlete who shows up and

gets after each week's workout.
• "CAMARADERIE" POINTS: 100 points to the team that shows the

greatest displays of encouragement and cheering for ALL athletes • "SPIRIT OF THE OPEN" POINTS: 25 points for individuals who show

exceptional courage, determination, and wholeheartedness in trying new movements, pushing themselves, and working through adversity.

• "POWER HOUSE" POINTS: 10 points for individuals who show great consistency in their training and workouts, use strategy and levelheadedness, model proper recovery from week to week, and exemplify leadership and sportsmanship

• "STYLE" POINTS: 5 points awarded to those for their flair and panache
