The training you will find at The Power House at Highland and Side Door CrossFit is unique, just like you are. Getting started here means that we want you to get to know us and we want to get to know you.
We implement various tools to help our clients reach their fitness goals; we don't believe one size fits all. Our rigorous coaching standards are aimed to assist each person realize their personal goals and find their genetic athletic potential. Quality of movement is like a religion to us. We want every person to move exceptionally well. Once the quality of movement is there, strength can be built exponentially.
Lots of CrossFit gyms have 2-6 week group "On-Ramp" or "Fundamentals" courses that introduce new athletes to the equipment, class structure and style, and common movement techniques seen in group classes. At Side Door CrossFit, we have found that we can best get to know and understand the specific and unique needs of our clients through introductory private sessions.
Our highly encouraged On-Ramp Express consists of two 60 minute private sessions with a coach that provides an introduction to the strength and conditioning services we offer, as well as movement assessments and technique overviews of major movements.
If you plan to jump into group classes, this is a great way to get oriented with personalized attention so you can enter our challenging classes with confidence, safety, and skill.
The two sessions must be completed within the same month (ideally in the same week!), so as to provide the must instructional benefit. We welcome couples and families to register together as well, up to 4 people.
In addition, making the commitment to private sessions is an awesome way to connect with a coach one-on-one in order to assess your general fitness level, acheive specific goals, and create a short-term and long-term plan for your training. Many of our clients do a combination of group classes and private coaching, which creates a powerful environment for results and excellent movement patterns.
*$50 additional per person, up to four people.

Want to find out more about The Power House? The Access Your Power intro classes are designed for just that. More "get to know you/open house" than "initiation by fire," the informal class is designed for the generally active, injury free individual who wants ultimately to train in one of our ongoing Power House group classes. In this class, you will get a tour of the facility, be introduced to the equipment we use, and be exposed to our movement curriculum in a group format. Movement techniques will be explained as well as a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our group classes. This class is some talking, some workout. For people who have questions, are interested in seeing the space, hearing some of the "vocabulary" we use around training, and speaking with a coach to figure out the best way for you to get started, this is perfect for you.
Please note, our On-Ramp Express private coaching sessions may be required before moving into our fast-paced group classes.
Sundays from 1:00pm-2:00pm
"I love the atmosphere in the gym. The coaches make the process of training hard enjoyable. Working out at The Power House helped me get my commitment to Yale hockey because it made me a stronger and more complete athlete."
